Hindu Matters In Britain - For British Hindus

Review 2017

The year 2017 has been a turbulent year with a daily dose of Brexit and the surprise results of the General Elections. Nevertheless, the Hindu community has made inroads in whatever part of the globe they have settled. India is progressing has a tremendous rate, and it is hard to keep up with all the fantastic people and projects that are on the go. India’s dream of becoming a world player is becoming a reality. But there is a long way to go and a lot to do.

The year had started with the special relationship – not the UK-USA, but the other one! It was the UK – India Year of Culture with a whole host of activities being held to mark the event including a lavish event at Buckingham Palace in the presence of the Queen and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and the Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Here are some of the fascinating stories that made it in our review for their relevance, uniqueness or iconic status.
